Promotion by GM to sell new vehicles.
Had a great time, just didn't have enough time. (should have gone a few days)
I got a chance to drive a manual C6 around this small track. (as well as an H2 Hummer) BOTH EXPERIENCES WERE QUITE ENJOYABLE.
Easier to get into to, handling is better than my C5 and very peppy.
I'm impressed.
I felt like I did when I first drove my C5.

I went Saturday and drove the C6, H2, GTO, STS, Silverado SS, and Yukon XL w/quadrasteer. I wanted to drive the SSR as well, but did not have the patience to stand in line any longer. Overall, I was impressed with all the cars.
As for the C6, I thought it drove very well. It felt more nimble than the C5 and the power in the base model is impressive. My only major complaint is the size, which I think hurts its appearance and interior space. Once I got inside, it certainly seemed tighter than the C5.

Drifting
The lines were not bad at 8 AM on Saturday. No waiting at all. I did get a black mark on my wristband for spinning out in an STS,( I had to test the Stabilitrak system ) so I had to take it easy with the C6 and the SSR.
I also got a nice coffee mug for taking an extended test drive in an Equinox.

That's a nice mug. I would've done it too, if I had known a coffee mug was the "present". I thought they'd give out a pen or something...

Safety Car
We went on Friday, and drove cars from 9:30 to 2:30. WE pretty much got right in almost all of the cars. Highlights were the C6, GTO, SSR, Hummer H2, 4-wheel steering Denali. It was a great time and very well run and organized by GM. They let you push the cars pretty hard (I didn't spin out though) within limit. I saw them warn a big Bubby looking guy in the Monte Carlo SS because as he was going through a sweeping turn he got the tire smokin'. I guess he thought he was Earnhardt.
