Anyone also having this problem with downloading and posting?
It seems that this Forum takes forever to download a particular forum (i.e. C3) or to download a thread for me to make a posting. Also submitting a posting. Seems like last night and today have been particularly slow.
I have to say that other forums that I visit do not seem to be as slow.
Anyone else having this problem? Or is it me and my old computer.
Jim

No problems here while using Firefox. Reading and posting takes a few seconds longer than usual from about 6 PM until about 10 PM for the last 2 or 3 days. I am on the forum often, throughout the day.

I have an iMac using Safari and have had no issues going to different forums on CF.
It could be "your old PC" in conjunction with added traffic on the internet in your area. Lots of internet Xmas shopping going on. There is also the possibility that the Corvette Forum is getting more traffic but I haven't seen a slow down here.
I will see a slow downs sometimes during lunchtime, when the kids get out of school or after dinner. Those seem to be high traffic times.
Even if you had a new computer - it will not speed up the internet.

Guys, I've been though this and think I've found a cure. It certainly works for me on this and other sites and I've seen no consequences. Please try this and see if it helps and let us know if it does. Maybe then the Moderators will make a "sticky."
The problem is with IE7 and the way it handles the new third party browsers used by many of the vendors on this and other sites. What worked for me (my system would completely hang and not just run slow.)
Click "Tools" at the upper right corner of your screen.
Click "Internet Options"
Click "Advanced"
Under "Browsing" UNCHECK "Enable third-party browser extension*"
Save the setting and you may need to reboot to get it to take affect. Then come back to the Corvette Forum, try what you normally do, and report back here if it helped or not.
Thanks

I've only seen a 3-5 sec delay off and on during the last week.

I'm not having problems with Firefox on CF and my machine is older than Jim's with less memory. That said, with another Firefox profile I have with plugins, Firefox is dragging worse than ever. Plugins are often a culprit for those issues, so if you are running some plugins, you might try disabling some/many/all and testing.
If you're not, and you don't want to do a reinstall, you might try Google's Chrome. My experience has been it's been pretty good, performance wise.

Didn't help at all. And it's not IE or my computer because the other 10 or so forums I look at are no problem.
