Opt out of api.viglink.com redirects?

This site's linking using http://api.viglink.com is slow and lots of times breaks the links.

Can users opt out of this or are all links forced through this?

I don't believe there is an opt out feature. That said, can you provide direct examples of this breaking links so that it can be investigated?
