Looks like its working now, first time I've been able to post in 2 days. I'm also on Comcast, but I have always used a primary and backup DNS from a top review list of Providers. (I run a wired network with a switch for the wireless devices, only issue with any site was CF)
Comcrap subscriber here (MacBook Pro). Flushing all caches helped but didn't fix it. Flushing DNS cache helped but didn't fix it. It seems like maybe adding the lines above to the hosts file may have finally fixed it.

So do I understand from somewhere in this thread that Comcast will eventually remedy this issue? What brought it about?
right now I'm getting on every other try - bring computer out of sleep, try it, fail, go to sleep again, out of sleep, try, connect. May be beneficial in keeping me away from OT a bit.
I don't think the problems will go away until or unless you change the DNS settings on your computers. When I did that to mine, it addressed the problem.
I don't have any idea in the world what DNS is (so obviously I didn't change any settings), but I can tell you I'm on Comcast and I'm finally able to get on.
Comcast here too, and have not been unable to get on at all, since sometime on Friday.
9:00pm was the first time I had a chance to check the Forum on Friday, and couldn't get on. I tried on and off Friday, Saturday and today. It's 7:30 Sunday night, and this is the first time I've been able to actually access the Forum. A couple times I was able to get the main page to come up, but couldn't open anything on the Forum. Usually, all I got was the Google Oops message. I tried getting on using my wife's Ipad, with no luck either.
I will say that I've been having some trouble with my Comcast TV service too. Some of the HD channels, have not been coming through, or have been coming in and out. It's only been happening with the HD service on the big screen. The digital broadcasts on the TV's in the rest of the house, have been working fine.
Just go to this page, download free ccleaner. and install it.
It will clear the dns cache for you as well as a lot of other bs stuff stored. One of the best utilities out there. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
CCleaner is good stuff.
The forum problem is not just Comcast. AT&T Uverse here. Problems last night and this morning even with using CCleaner.
Better this afternoon but sometimes the pages load slower than normal.

I wonder how long I'll be able to use the Forum?
Had exact same problems and am on Comcast with a Mac. Will try some of the remedies previously described. This is the longest I have been on the CF since friday.

The issue you're having with Comcast should resolve itself once Comcast's DNS servers update. This can take hours or days. There isn't much anyone can do to change that as it's up to Comcast.
The work around is to manually change your DNS servers to ones that have the update (such as Google's). Or, some have suggested editing your HOST file. Personally, I would not recommend editing your HOST file because you may forget about it and the IP address could change any time. If it does, then you'll have to manually update your HOST file with the new IP addresses. If you just change your DNS servers, it's more automatic.

Thanks J T that helps. I may jinx it by saying this but it appears to be working this morning, first try out. Last thing I was going to do was mess with some internal settings and somehow cut myself off from the Internet altogether, my wife needs it for business and would not be pleased!

I'm also a Comcast subscriber here in Mass. I was able to get in only about 25 % of the time the last 2 days. Seems to be working well this morning though

I'm still having issues accessing the site. It has been like this for about a week now.
Most likely it is an issue with the web server or hosting that the forum is running off of. Hopefully the Admin here can get it fixed.
BTW i've tried accessing the site from multiple ISP's with multiple DNS servers including Google's and I'm seeing the issue everywhere.
I know you said that you have tried google's DNS address areas, but have you tried a "openDNS" address area? Try either 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220
I've been problem free since Sunday using an "openDNS" address area.
