Default mark forum as read question

Greetings,

When I read through the forum, I look at the threads I'm interested in, then hit the "mark this forum read" button under forum tools. When I do that, it removes all the unread post icons as it should. I can hit refresh, and they're still gone. If I stay there, and hit refresh a couple minutes later, there will be a couple actual new posts, which is just as it should.

The problem I have is when I close the forum window, then come back a few minutes later. When I do that, I get all the unread post icons that were there before I hit "mark this forum read".

Does that feature only work for the current browser session? Is there any way to make it work for all sessions, so I don't see all those unread message posts again the next time I hit the forum?

Thanks,
Rusty

The individual Mark This Forum Read feature is session-based as you determined. When the browser window is closed, that session is destroyed. The only way to get around this is to use the master Mark All Forums Read on the forum homepage, which updates your activity date on your account. There is no easy way, especially due to the volume of content CorvetteForum has, to get around that.

Thanks for the quick reply. That works fine, so I'll just aim a bit higher for the quick links- mark forums read button.
