Default Forum running horrendously slow on my PC

I have a PC with 6Gb of RAM and running Windows 8. Threads are very slow to open, and it affects the PC (slows down, i.e. occasionally freezes) all other open tabs in Firefox when I've got the forum open. I've updated Adobe (presume it's Flash that's causing it to lag?). Anyone else have this issue?

Suggestions other than using a baseball bat to it? :

The only time I had issues with this site it was some slow loading ads. I don't recall it lasting all too long. Plus I have since installed uBlock Origin (ad blocker) so that won't happen again.

So - the word "horrendous" gets the "ly", but not "slow". I think you need to be banned to adverb school. Continue.

No such problems here. And I get on the forum 3 or 4 times a day throughout the day, every day.

Try using a desktop computer with Windows 7, 8 GB of RAM, Firefox for a browser, with an Adblocker add-on.

i do use adblocker, but that has zero impact on other sites i visit.

The forum has been a bit slow here, but it seems to be just an occasional thing. Could be my internet provider too.

We can't support products that are used to alter the functionality and appearance of the website through the browser. In fact, doing so may just be why you're having issues. I can get by just fine with only 4GB on an ultra PC using Windows 8 and Firefox. We have a lot of Firefox users.
