What happened to the My recent topics tab?
#2
A link is located under your username in the upper-right corner as shown in the attachment. It has been there fore some time. The navbar that you reference can only hold so much and there was some effort to clean it up. Having it listed twice is probably not fitting that effort.

Then how is having new posts listed twice clean it up. ?? Doesn't matter to me as long as I have a place to go for my needs. Never knew that was there.
Thanks for the fast reply
2 new post. 1 on each tab line ?

Well, one less duplicate does make it cleaner and so I'd say that was progress in that direction, no?
I do want to note that the standard vBulletin navbar did not/does not have the My Recent Topics link. That link was an "aftermarket" add on.

Absolutely not progress, it's a move in the wrong direction. The New Posts link is the most useless thing in the world, with a site this large no one wants to sift thru all the new posts, it's impossible to keep up.

The "My Recent Posts" is the link I use every time I log onto this site. On the other hand, "New Posts" is something I'll never use because as mentioned above, I don't want to sift through all those other posts to find the threads to which I've contributed.
Please consider putting back the My Recent Posts and removing New Posts.

EDIT: Plus I don't see the link under my screen name. It lists PMs and whatnot but that's it. Then again it's almost 4 AM and I'm tired.

I understand cleaning things up or whatever, but there are several links I would have cut first. Why have search on the nav bar when there is a search bar in the corner of the screen?

I'm curious as to the thinking behind how this improves the user experience.

And another note, not having it on AudiWorld is a nuisance as well.

Look again. It's in the menu for your username in the upper right corner. The very first upper right corner. As shown in the attachment I previously posted:

If this was a rather inactive forum that "new posts" providing all of them would be helpful. This site however is huge. There's 7 different generations and I can almost guarantee you NO ONE checks all 7 generation sections on a daily basis or cares to. The way it's setup now makes it absolutely ridiculous. Make one of them the way you have it now if you guys really want it that way but otherwise put one (or both) back to the way it was and move the "all new posts" to the menu in the top right.

The New Posts being duplicated, as you pointed out, is because the top navbar is also shown outside of the forum. On the homepage: https://www.corvetteforum.com/ the top navbar is shown and follows the member to the forums for consistency.
The New Posts on the red navbar is how all 3.x vBulletin forums are actually coded from the box unless the site has modified the navbar template. CorvetteForum had modified the template to add the My Recent Posts javascript and direct links to the search engine (which is actually what that was - just a link to the search with pre-filled values).
I didn't design nor did I make these changes. I will see what the team has to say, based on the feedback that was provided.

Got it thanks. As others have told you it's not optimal the way you have it set up. You have it duplicated in the two areas I've circled. Make one of them back the way it was.
