Default "Related Thread" value get wiped out for in members profiles?

Seems as if the user profile value for "related thread" got reset so by default members now roll into related zombie threads again. Might want to remind folks to go back into their profile and deselect it.

It was not reset on my account.

The default value is enabled. Members can disable this via the UserCP as was discussed several occasions.

I don't think we need to tell members to disable it when the option (and other options) are in the UserCP and can be changed at their own pleasure depending on their own preferences.

I was gonna post this myself. I just hit this here.....

I'd consider it a bug myself. Related threads, whether enabled or not, shouldn't be bringing up nearly 8 year old old threads. You guys should set a threshhold of a year or two......or something. But bringing up an 8 year old thread as related is pretty silly.

Here's the setting. I'm guessing this bug becomes prevalent only when both infinite scroll and show enabled threads are both enabled. I just reset my related threads to off. Regardless, I'd still prevent zombie threads from being displayed as related.

Thank you for that alert. I had to go to my profile and reset it to disable related threads. I got tired of looking at threads that had been started by dead people.

Unless someone hijacked my CF account, I know I turned off right after it was introduced. It somehow got turned back on recently and it wasn't me. And it seems like others have the same issue.

Anyway, it seems like a pretty sloppy implementation since the "related" threads are in completely different forum areas. And the ones tied to PR&C ain't even close.

I know, your sandbox your rules but whatever sales/marketing purpose it serves it seems to cause a lot of problems with resurrecting zombie posts.
