Default Backfire and lack of power

I have a 1993 Vette, when it is in Park, I can press on the gas and there is no hesitation and the RPM's are good. When I put it in drive and try to quickly accelerate I some times get a backfire and I also get a loss of power to the point the engine almost stalls.

This Help section is for Help with the CorvetteForum website (account issues, etc.,) and is not the place to post technical questions about Corvettes or other questions not related to the website. Instead, please find the correct section, based on the generation of the Corvette.

Go back to the main forum page:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/

Now start to slowly scroll down until you see the generation of your Corvette. C4 Corvettes, 1984 - 1996:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1984-1996-19/

Got a technical question about the C4 Corvette? Use the C4 Tech section:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1984-1996-19/

We encourage new members to take some time to browse around the site and read the Announcements and Stickies as they contain important and frequently asked information.

Thank-you
