Default Suggestion for reviving old posts

I have seen quite a few very old posts get fresh replies lately. I’m not saying to lock the threads, but can we at least maybe have a pop-up or some sort of signal to these people that the posts are old? Maybe if the thread hasn’t been replied to in over six months. They should have some sort of warning before they’re allowed to continue with a reply.

There are time limits to Threads, not sure how long but for sure multi-year Threads are not allowed to be brought back and will be shutdown.

There used to be a time limit on threads but it did not serve in the form of participation and is no longer implemented and hasn't for some time.

Some of the replies may be from being unaware, however, a thread 90 days old can be just as good, and relevant for updates, as one from yesterday.

I recently reported a very old thread that was restarted and it got shut down.

We do not close threads based on date. There is no rule that old threads cannot be brought back to active. While there was a brief time when old threads were auto-locked, and the Guidelines included a rule about old threads, neither are no longer (and hasn't been for a while) valid. Any recent actions would have been in error.
