Default So long Dad. Till we meet again........

On Thursday, September 25, 2008, my Dad finally went home. He was 77 years old and had spent the last 6 1/2 years of his life in a nursing home due to a massive stroke. He never got to see my Vette, but although he was a devout Pontiac lover I know that he would have liked it. Please pray for my family and me as we struggle to get through these times. Although his struggles are over, we miss him dearly.

Love you Dad............ See you soon.

My thoughts are with you in your sorrow.

Please be sure of one very important thing, however. Your Dad saw your Corvette on Thursday...and I am quite sure he was very proud of his son for that and many other reasons.

Peace.

It's funny that you say that. My Dad always wore this certain cap when he was able to sit in his wheelchair, never saw him without it. The night that he passed away, that cap was sitting on a table in his room and I just picked it up to be close to him. When I left the nursing home that night, I put his cap in my car and "took him for a ride". I know that he would have been pleased.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I appreciate it.

Im So Sorry for your Loss, I lost my Dad a month ago he was 68, I know how much it hurts, pull your support from Family and Friends, and make sure you have as many laughs remembering the good times as you do shedding tears over your loss. It's helped me.

Thank you Dave, and I'm so sorry to hear of your loss as well. My Dad was a Christian man, so my comfort comes from the fact of knowing where he is right now. Take care.

I'm sorry for your loss. I can definitely relate with you, i'm 23 and my father passed away unexpectedly after not recovering from an illness back in April of this year. He was 58. That being said, i'm sure your father is very proud of you and also very happy in his new home. Take care my friend. As said above in the previous post, make sure you remember the good times, it really helps the pain.

Razorback 58; death has been no stranger to my family as well. There is really nothing words can do to ease your sorrow. It is the finality of it all that is so impossible to comprehend. Time will heal and as was said here earlier and is very sound advice, remember laugh about the good times and be happy that you knew him. I too belive you will see him again and there will be smiles all around. I wish you peace.

Harold,

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. Your father will always be riding with you in your Vette. God speed to you and your family during these trying times.

So Sorry to hear about the loss of your Father.
The loss of a parent is difficult to deal with. I know. My Mother passed away a few months ago at 80, and my Dad is 86 and not doing well.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during these tough times.
Rick.

This thread is a great example of the A-Class group of people that we have on this forum. I really enjoy the brotherhood of vette owners

Condolences on the loss of your Dad. Perhaps you can find some solace in knowing he is free from the illness and physical infirmities that captured his final years.

He's with you at all times, in fact, I bet he's checking out your car right now and saying it's no Pontiac, but it will do. My thoughts and prayers are with you brother.

Homewrecker, I just read this for the first time and had to laugh! That sounds exactly like what my Dad would have said! Thanks to everyone for all of the kind words. It's nice to know that there are like-minded people out there.

My prayers are with you and your family. I lost my Dad to a brain tumor 38 years ago when I was only 10. I still miss him every day, and he's in my prayers every night. And, whether you want to believe me or not, I'm sure your Dad's already seen your Vette and is very proud of you.
