In Memory of Dave Ramsden
Dave was from NJ and drove a 1995 C4 Black/Black. He sent it off to Callaway to have a complete Aero body and Supernatural 383 stroker installed. He loved to race his car. I met Dave at a show in NJ where he parked next to my 1995 C4 Lingenfelter 383 stroker White vette and we
became friends and race rivals. He moved to Las Vegas with his wife Debbie. On June 5th 2005 I received a call from his sister, who went thru all the numbers in Dave's phone. She informed me that Dave had been killed on his motorcycle on Las Vegas Blvd near Henderson, when an on comming car suddenly turned left infront of him. Dave laid the bike down and slid into the car and was killed on impact from a broken neck. Dave was not a reckless guy. He wore all the correct safety gear and being an engineer by trade, he had sound judgement skills. He often won best reaction time at the track. His accedent happened infront of a helicopter medivac facility where I understand medics were on him in just a minute or so but it was too late- Dave was gone.
He was a good man and a good friend. He is buried in NJ just one mile from my house. When ever I get a new car I have to go there to show him. When ever in Vegas I always stop in to see Debbie and we go for a cruise in the Callaway. I will always remember my friend Dave and will always miss him.

RIP Dave. I was lucky enough to speak with Dave's wife Debbie after she had presented me the "2005 Ramsden Most Meticulous Corvette" award in Dave's honor. It was awarded to the Most meticulously prepared (clean and shiney) Corvette that raced the entire season of the East Coast Supercharing, Corvette Challenge Drag Racing Series at Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ
Knowing Dave was a racer who also cared about how his Corvette looked, I was honored to accept this award.
May God be with you Dave and Peace be with you Debbie.
Dave, I hope you have met my wonderful daughter Linda by now.

She'd have plenty to talk about as far as Corvettes are concerned.

Wow Paul...it has been a while since we have seen you.
Yes Dave a great person and competitor in the Corvette Challenge.
In fact, every year we give out an award in his memory at our racers banquet. We have done this every year since he has passed.
I sure do miss him.

I remember when I bumped into you at the food stand in Carlisle, and you gave me the bad news.
I met dave in about 2002 or so, at one of the GM High Tech EFI races. I almost always made the early race in march. Met Dave in line when he caught me admiring his car. He immediately introduced himself to me and made me feel like part of the team.
Paul was the second. I enjoyed those days.
Godspeed Dave.
