Jerry Young - a.k.a. Jay.Why - R.I.P.
It is my deepest regret to bring you this sad news... Jerry Young (Jay.Why here on the forum) passed away Friday Morning. He found out about 3 months ago that he had a form Leukemia. He expected a longer "4th quarter" as he put it, with blood transfusions and other medication, his passing came shorter than expected.
If you knew Jerry and would like to attend his funeral, please PM me.
Here's Jerry and his "Blonde Friend"

Wow, Jerry was such a great guy, very knowledgeable and helpful. He loved the all his yellow leather and showing off his latest Corvette accessory. His "Young At Heart" logo is great, he really enjoyed sharing that with others. He was also very proud of his "Movie Star Career", that was an ad for his favorite body shop! That grandson Jerry brought on a couple runs was a great kid, Jerry was very proud of him. I tried to get Jerry to have the grandson help him with detailing the Corvette, but Jerry was just too finicky.
Jerry will be greatly missed, I wish his family the best. Pm sent.
Daniel, Thanks so much for delivering this very sad news....

Daniel,
Thank you very much for posting this message. I am Jerry's son, Darren, and we are all deeply saddened by his death. My dad was a great guy and he really loved his Corvettes. I know he loved discussing them with everyone on Corvette Forum (I noticed that he last visited the forum on the night that he passed away). I am keeping my dad's blond friend in good shape. My wife and I wipe it down every morning, just like he did. I only drive it every couple of days to keep the engine going but it will always be my dad's car. My family misses him very much. Thank you again for the kind words about my father. My family appreciates it very much.

Very sad news... What a great guy "from da bronx". I will miss my Saturday morning calls from him.
A great guy full of (in his own words) "**** and vinegar" with a tremendous passion for Corvettes. I will miss him.
God bless him and his family..
Ed

To the Man who's Truly "Young At Heart"
I was just sent a link to this tread this morning and I just wanted to thank Daniel for starting it. I’ve known Jerry for 16 years and he was the best. He would never hold his punches and always spoke openly with his heart. I would see him at least 3 times a week, with that big smile on his face and a zing in his step; we became such a part of each other routine. I’ll truly miss him, he was a great friend. "Love you Jerry"

Sincerest condolences from West Coast Classics, Santa Monica.
We will miss you Jerry, it was always a pleasure doing business with you, helping you sell your treasured 1959 girlfriend to its new home in Australia and discussing and helping to personally customize your treasured 'Young at Heart' latest Corvette.
Our sincerest condolences to your family, you will be missed.

I just heard this news. I'm so sorry for your loss. I had some contact with Jerry through PM's about his and My Corvettes. He seemed like a great guy.
