My Mom passed today
My Mom died today at 1219 pm. She learned she had cancer less than a month ago. It had already progressed to her spleen, kidneys, liver and lungs. Our family supported her choice not to try chemotherapy or radiation at this advanced stage. She also had early Alzheimer's. The toxins of the cancer caused her such confusion and anxiety in the last week. She had been such a strong, independent and feisty woman.
Thankfully, she never experienced any advanced pain from the cancer. Maybe a blessing. She vowed to fight it as long as she could and she did.
She went into Hospice on April 19, 2012 when her effected organs starting shutting down. She fell into a deep sleep the following day and never woke up again. Hospice was great, keeping her comfortable until the end.
Mom encouraged my love of cars and Harley Davidsons. Her father owned the first Harley dealership in RI and died riding his bike.
Mom was a dog lover. Please donate to your favorite charity for cancer research or animal shelter.
I love you Mom. I miss you. I'll miss our weekly phone calls. BLH, born Nov 02, 1927 passed April 23, 2012.

This is why i have stayed away from this part of the forum.
I'm scared to death of death and i hate hearing these kinds of things just thought i'd weigh in to let you know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Very sorry for your loss.

JW, while I know there are no words that can be said to comfort you and the family in this time of bereavement. I simply say "Love is never lost, Life is Endless - we hold the key in our memories and moments shared". These words carried and continue to carry me as I deal with my father's passing. Sounds like you guys shared some wonderful moments. GOD bless and keep her close.

Sorry for your Mom's passing
Her quick passing may have avoided prolonged suffering but it must have been harder to accept.
I do donate to my local SPCA

JW,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Something compelled me to come to this part of the site when I logged on just now. You will always have my shoulder and I consider you a brother and my heart goes out to you and your family.
Your mom is very proud of all that you've become - she did a good job. God bless you and your mother. Her journey has just begun.
