Default RIP Big Gus Puryear!

Gus Puryear was a true Corvette enthusiast. One of my friends that everyone knew and spent many hours talking Corvette experiences over the years at all of the Corrals.
We will miss Gus....May he 'Rest In Peace".

His Friend, Jim Roberts

Sad news, Gus was a stand-up Corvette enthusiast. I had the pleasure of knowing him and hanging out with him at Sebring and Petite LeMans for many years. Rest in Peace!

We will miss him and may he rest in peace. Bev and I met him and his wife when he shipped his car over to Le Mans with 13 of us. He became one of our good friends. He lived life to the fullest and even took his yacht over to Havana on a 'humanitarian' mission. One of his classmates from Harvard is the commandant of the Havana Yacht Club. An adventurist, Corvette enthusiast, and great guy who will be missed.

I first met Gus at Sebring in 2007 when he greeted me as I entered the corral and again at Road Atlanta that year. I always looked forward to seeing him and we had some great conversations about our Corvettes.

The last time I saw Gus was when he was my passenger during the parade laps at VIR in 2013...
