Last step taken today. Sad ***** over let the fun stuff begin . This thing does not start. Clicks several times and says no fob detected... even when I insert fob In emergency slot. It's at the dealer now.

Yeah, i took both fobs over to my shop. one fob is **** replaced the battery still no output on the RF meter. The other one has output signal with the meter. I thought it might be the RCDLR based on a bulletin I found but it only applies if there is one click when pressing the start button, mine clicks several times so that is ruled out. It's possible the fob lost programming since nubs had it sit for a year without driving it and the battery went dead. We put a new delco in shortly before he passed.

It's a common issue (loss of communication with fob), but not the reason that your car isn't starting. Check the battery in the car! And check for skank thongs in the rear cubbies!!

LOL!! There is a new delco battery we put in a few weeks ago. And I didn't see any thongs... yet

Isn't there some stupid thing with 2005 6 speeds that they HAVE to be parked in reverse or the BCM has all sorts of issues? Snake, was the car parked in reverse and did you try starting it that way?

Damn it! It was in neutral when I tried starting. Everything I read on here and on tech times at work never mentioned that. Going to be pissed if that's the problem! It needed some maintenance and another key fob anyway so it had to go in .

I am not for certain, but ya, IIRC the 2005 manual trans cars had some finnicky issue where the parasitic drain discharged the battery if not parked in reverse. Maybe one of the c6 guys can confirm. Good luck. Hopefully a simple fix for you.

Thanks! Like I said early on in the thread incase you missed it. He talked about the forum a lot. Sad thing I found out is his ex in Florida used his "last activity" on here to see if was still around yet if he'd disappear which wasn't uncommon sometimes.

That sounds about right, too bad the guy couldn't talk to skanks lol and if he did his line was something about saved by the bell or asking a question about AC Slater
