I didn’t know him and I had no interaction with him and I usually only post nonsense here but this sucks.
I just blankly stared at this screen for 15 minutes before I clicked submit.

I'd like to search out the thread where he came clean and go over all the posts again, you know, just for schits and giggles.

Very sad. You can only hope for the best with someone who keeps on the course to self destruct.
I always remember Neil Young's lyrics, "every junkie is like a setting sun" and for some reason that phrase sticks with me.

Just Damn, I always liked his threads and found him to be a very entertaining member. I was hoping he finally got his crap together and everything seemed to be going for him from he posted. My condolences go out to you and his family.
RIP Nubs.

he was killin his recovery! Something triggered him Saturday and as many times as I asked him that night if he was ok he didn't want to tell me what was wrong. Thank you

He was. He was clean 90 days the longest time in 12 years. I wish he would have opened up to me Saturday but he had his mind made up already when he hit the " heroin highway " instead of stopping tonsee me instead

man, sounds like you know him very well. he would always dodge me when he was using becuase he knew i wasn't an enabler. I would see through his ****. You're right he didn't take it serious. he dropped 100k in the last 12 months on dope. His dad was a god damn saint, but his parents have money and would drop thousands on treatment just for him to slap them in the face and go right back to it.. His struggle was real and he always told me he wanted to die with his true love... i'm pissed off at him but i'm glad he's not lying and suffering with those demons anymore.
Sorry about your friend man. I read a few of his posts in here too, although never responding to any of them.
He seemed like a pretty laid back guy, almost too laid back if I recall correctly from his last postings about having been locked up. He spoke freely of his battle with substance abuse.
He will be missed around here, that's for sure. RIP Mr. Nubain, it was interesting reading your post and your perspective on things.

Damn. I can't put into words how disappointed I am to hear this. I didn't know him personally, never messaged him, but always really enjoyed reading his posts. In fact he was one of my favourite posters around here. He seemed like he was a really intelligent and fun guy.
Having lost a family member to addiction I was worried for him after his thread where he shared his getting caught with us. Really sad ending and way too early for such a smart and fit guy to pass on.
Rest In Peace Jaren.

I'd seen most of his posts here and commented in a few also. Don't think I saw a picture of him though till this one. To look at him, he looked like a super healthy, happy guy always with a big smile. I really thought he was getting his head straight from his posts. Most junkies look like dried up shells, not at all like this guy, he looked like he could whip a bear's ***! Whatever finally took him down must be some really nasty ****.
My Brother is going down that path too, but you can tell by looking at him. He's one of the hard cases that refuses to get straight (because he's in control), disappears for months at a time only to resurface again in rags. I expect to get a notification of his demise at any time.
I really expected Nubian to make it from his communications here. Sad to hear otherwise.
