Dr. Brian Sorrentino (St. Jude Hospital / former member spiral bri)
Dr. Brian Sorrentino (former CF member "spiral bri"), passed on November 16, 2018.
Dr.Sorrentino owned many Corvettes over the years and was the Director of Hematology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis TN.
He was diagnosed with lymphoma approximately 45 years ago when he was 15 years old. Due to the radiation treatment he received he had heart issues requiring a valve replacement a few years ago and approximately 1 year ago was diagnosed with lung cancer even though he never smoked.
When I was planning the first St. Jude Fundraiser on the forum in 2003, it was Dr. Sorrentino who reached out to me as a fellow Corvette owner and Dr. at the hospital. Dr. Sorrentino assisted in setting up the itinerary and met me, other forum members and members of the Corvette Memphis Club upon our arrival at the Hospital in Memphis, TN. Dr. Sorrentino took the time to speak at the event to parents and patients and arranged for tours of the hospital for the attendees.
For the next 13 years Dr. Sorrentino participated in the fundraiser and was so proud of our forum members and vendors for raising approximately 1.3 million dollars for the hospital.
Over the years we became very good friends and he will be missed not only as a friend but for the amazing work he performed as a Dr. / Researcher.
A few years ago, Dr. Sorrentino was instrumental along with his team in finding a cure for children who were born with no immune system (bubble boy), disease.
RIP Brian - I know you are with our Father in Heaven. Thank you for doing His work and for saving the lives of so many children not only at St. Jude but around the world
Just some of this wonderful man's history:

Dr Sorrentino was a tremendous person.
He was always upbeat and had a great time when we saw him at check presentations. Our thoughts and prayers for the comfort of his family and his many friends.
He will be missed by many people but treasured by the many more that he helped along the way.

"In honor of jpee"
With a life spent like his, it's almost inadequate to say anything. But there is no doubt about his accomplishments for humankind. Godspeed, Doctor Brian.
