Welcome! What in Germany do you live? My wife has family in Mainz-Kastel. We were there for two weeks in November 2004. Had a great time, love that Autobahn!

Default Welcome to the world of Vettes!

Glad to have you. It's great to hear people from other countries enjoying the Corvette life. P.S. I like Silver myself.

Thank you everyone in CF for the friendly words of welcome .

@Ladyvette

Thanks a lot, i'm sure, i will have a good time in CF.

@Doughan

Great I live in Bielefeld...it's between Hannover und the Ruhrgebiet in North Rhein Westfalia near the Autobahn A2 (with a lot of kilometers without speedlimit ).

@johnsub

I think the same.... It's great to communicate and learn from other corvetteowners in other countries with the same passion for corvette.

@NiteriderC5

Ya, vettes are really rare in europe...for example in my city ( ~ 400.000people live) i know about 2x C3, my C5, 1 C6 and 2x C6Z06.
Good corvettegarages, which do a good job are also rare .
Fortunately we have in germany a vetteforum with many most helpful members, which help with words, deeds and parts. It's a good efficient community.
Otherwise you often should stay standalone with your problems.

@eurostyle

Freising is in a very nice region .

Well, at the moment, i love the C5 design ...it looks in my opinion very tough and strong...really beautiful.

Thanks , it's a "Schmidt VN" wheel in 10x19 and 11,5x20 . But at the moment my vette drives on 2001er oem-wheels "Y2K" (QF5).

Welcome aboard, trying to put myself in your place with a German forum. You have done well. As I try to tell all my new friends there is such a wealth of information in here at your finger tips.

Glad to have a friend in Germany.

Wish you the very best with your new ride.

Thanks for the intro,

Andy

Welcome to the Forum! Your English is fine. I was in Germany for three years from 1969 to 1972. During that time I owned a 63 Corvette Convertible with the "Super High Performance" 327 CI Motor with 4 speed - I could buy petro for 18 cents per gallon! I really had fun on your no speed limit highways - I don't know how fast that car would have run, because the temperature gauge for the engine coolant got to high, before top speed could be reached. So, I'd have to slow down to cool down, and never found out! But it was BAD, and it was FUN. , Bob

Mad Tom: Thanks for the reply. Yes, a few years have passed since 1972, and a few cars in my life has passed as well As you can see, I still have my love for the Corvette.
I had a job while I was in Germany that required me to travel around, the company paid for my petrol and driving expenses I was based in Goppingen, near Stuttgart, but traveled the entire country from Bremerhaven to Munich and a lot of places in between. LOVED it, especially your beer and food I can get it here in the US but it's not the same. The small local breweries had most of my favorites. Fond memories
Again, welcome and stay in touch! Bob
