Possible future Z06 owner
Hello all,
I'm Bobby from NY. I currently own a MB CLK500 that I've done some work to including a nitrous oxide kit. I have plenty of experience with high hp cars and am a huge car guy. I go by ItalianStallion on forums such as 6speedonline, mbworld.org, and nagtroc.
I had a deposit down at a local Nissan dealer for the new GT-R at MSRP but they completely lied to me and told me I have to cough up an extra $20k, regardless of my written agreement and my deposit (which I'd love to take some legal action against).
I've always had a thing for Corvettes, especially the new Z06 as I've personally seen them race on the track and on the streets. So I walked into the local Chevy dealer last week and right on the showrooom floor is a black '08 Z06 with chrome rims. It was love at first site. Everything about it was just perfect. They also had a black "regular" C6 right next to it and I had no idea how much sexier the Z06 is. I was actually smiling while staring at the Z.
So anyways, the lease on my Benz expires in Spring. I have a few options for a future car. Porsche 996TT, 05 MB CL65, 'Vette Z06. I know these are very different cars but they will all give me sub 11 second 1/4 miles and go for about the same price. My goals are to have at least 600whp and 10 second 130mph timeslips.
The 'Vette seems like it'll be the cheapest to mod and it is hands down the best performance car of the group. Plus I can't get over how gorgeous it is. Its a little less refined than the Porsche and its in a completely different category than the CL65. But I'm willing to sacrifice luxury and comfort for an all out badass sportscar experience. I'm at that stage of my life where I want a car that'll involve me as a driver and give me a smile everytime I hit the gas.
I'm leaning towards grabbing a Z06 and doing headers, exhaust, intake, tune, and nitrous oxide. It shouldn't be too expensive and it will definitely accomplish my goals.
So I'll be hanging around these forums from now on learning as much as I can until Spring when I have to make the big decision.

Aloha and welcome to the CF, as like you I owned a MB CLK500 which is a very nice and powerful car. However I returned to my roots which is a Vette which is and always will be America's True Sports Car.
Best of luck in deciding and I hear the ZO6 calling out you neme.

Hi Bobby, a Big “HELLO” from Forest Hill, Maryland.
Welcome to the “Corvette Jungle” , where the Vette owners are always restless! Good Luck on buying a new Zo6 Corvette! When you get it, drive America’s only “Exotic Muscle Sports Car Icon”, enjoy the fun, thrills and excitement. Feel the Vette V-8 power as often as possible, laugh and sing …I do, and I have the ”Corvette Smile” all the time. There is never enough Vette V-8 power driving time. I wish you many miles of “Corvette Smiles” with your new stunning ride.

Go For it!
I drive a C6 Coupe and my best friend has a Ron Fellows Z06.... I have never liked white cars, but his Z06 is just Bad Azz looking.
