Hello everyone! I am new here and about to buy my first vette. I am looking at an 08 possibly with the z51 package. what can you guys tell me about this package (specifically the upgrade to the manual transmission). I dont want it if it wont fit my application. Mostly it will be a daily driver with the semi frequent trip to the 1/4 mile dragstip. I wont be doing any track racing. I have been looking at this forum for a while and it is hands down the best resource of info I have found. Thank you in advance to all of you.

Aloha and welcome to the CF, on your 08 the Z51 package will help you on the race track as the package gives you bigger trans gearing for mor off the line acceleration.

Welcome aboard and sounds like Z51 would be the ticket for your driving described and don't forget the NPP exhuast.

Welcome to the Forum, LS3 4ME. I have a z51 with the A6 paddle shifter. The auto Tranny's first 2 gears are lower than the M6 manual shifter. Gets you going faster out of the hole!!
