New From Frozen Ohio!
Hello everyone I have been lurking since I bought my new 2007 Corvette last June. I just can't take the winter anymore and need Corvette support until I can get mine back on the road.
When I decided to fulfill my life long dream of owning a Corvette I decided it had to be Monterey red with chrome rims and a 6 speed. I soon found out that Monterey red was discontinued and I wasn't finding one like I wanted, but as luck would have it after several days searching I found what I think was the last one in Ohio equipped like I wanted. As a matter of fact that is all the options it had. Monterey red, chrome rims and 6 speed and I was glad that it also had the 3:42 gears. I called the dealer on a Saturday and he said they had a deal on it but the guy had to get his wife's OK and he would be back on Monday and he had no money down on it so first come first served. Within 2 hrs I was at the dealer and struck the deal I had put together with my research and drove the car home. Here she is.
We enjoyed her all summer. We took a trip on the Sky Line Drive and all the Blur Ridge Parkway and finished off with The Tail of The Dragon. This year we plan to finish our Rt66 tour we will be picking it up at the Oklahoma and Texas border and going all the way to the end in Ca. I can't wait. I will say this car had exceeded all my expectations. The only thing I have done to it is to add the center dash and console insert in Monterey red to break up all the same color on the interior.
I consider this my first Vette although I did own a 76 back in 98 for a summer but it was never intended as a keeper. I got a call one Friday and was told if I wanted this Vette for $3000 it was mine just had to buy it by Monday. I said I'll be right there. I gave her some much needed attention including breaks, tune up and engine detail, rub out the paint, new interior and then enjoyed it for a summer before selling it. Here it is.
Sorry for the long post but as I said it has been a long winter. I have owned several older muscle cars, Pontiacs have always been my love. While I am at it I will show you my newest ride. It should be rare someday if I keep it that long. The Magnum is no longer being built and the 08 is a one year only design so the SRT8 should be quite rare. The have 425 HP and 420 Lbs-Ft of torque and it is a lot of fun.
Hope you enjoy the photos and I look forward to learning ever more from this forum than I already have.

Congrats and welcome from frozen NE Ohio. I see you're not to far from Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington. Last year I did the ALMS/Indy Car Racing there along with the Corvette Corral and 3 Parade Laps around the course. It was a lot of fun and met some great forum members there. I'll be doing it again this year and hope to see you there.

Hi from equally frozen Ct! Right now there's still about 6" on the ground and it's getting colder for the end of the week. We bought our first vette last year as well, sleeping now as I'm sure yours is but hopefully another 4-5 weeks and we may get lucky. I was also a pontiac guy, my 1st car was a 64 LeMans followed by GTO's and T/A's. Good luck with your car and have a great 08!.
