RickyBerg 1972 targa blue
Hi im Ricky.
Im from Sweden and i have been a member to this forum for a couple of months now so its about time i intruduce my self.
This Targa Blue 1972 convertible is my first Corvette and i have had it for a couple of years now.
Its realy fun to drive a fully "analog" vehicle again after years of modern and boring "grocery getters".
Yers ago i had some other US cars like Charger R/T 440, Duster 340, Mustang and so on but i never had driven a Vette before i got this one.
I must say that i realy was impressed by the handling and balance of the car, chassie was stock apart from the Bilstein gas shocks i put on last spring.
Mostly the car is driven on nice open contryroads where the 3,36 rearend and the 4spd Muncie works best.
I have had a go on the trackdays that the Swedish Club Corvette arranges and despite that i didnt stand a chance against all tuned and supercharged C5-C6 cars this was so fun that i this winter decided to go for a chassie upgrade.
The aim is to maintain the cars original look on the outside when going on the streets and then change the wheels for stickier ones for the track.
I am also planning to try to get a rollbar fitted that goes under the convertible, or that easely can be fitted for the trackdays.
Input, suggestions/pictures on how to solve this?

During the 3 day long trackday experience i noticed that i lost the oilpressure during hard breaking and in the left hand corners.
The oilcontroll was terrible..
I didnt bother to much about this since i had so much fun and the result was ofcourse a broken rod-bearing.
The engine at that time was a 402 bigblock and it got sold in pieces.
New engine was built, this time i went for a 4bolted 454 GenV.
The engine is mildly tuned and built very solid.
I wanted to keep the engine undernieth the original BB hood so this didnt gave me many options for intake manifolds.
After a lot of sleepless nights i decided to go for a repro LS6 intake.
Not the optimal and obvious hi performance choise, not at all..
But i had to give it a try..

Thanks mrmtrtrnd.
This winter i have been buissy with finishing off the 454 and complete the chassies upgrade.
Today the engine rest in the car but there is still a month of work before its ready for the streets.
The welding of the chassie and the modifying/making of brakets proved to be timeconsuming, but its fun to make things "your way".
