Hello from Las Vegas
I've wanted a corvette since I was a child. I traded in a Top banana Daytona charger for the Vette. I loved my charger but the difference in performance is truly amazing. 1st gear is SCARY!
And wow! I love my blue paint. It changes color as you walk around the car, from various shades of blue to an aqua turquoise color. I can't find a single scratch or ding on my car. Previous owner installed the clear plastic protectors on the front of the car, mirrors etc.
If you're thinking of installing the plastic clear bra I highly recommend it. A giant rock nailed my mirror on the freeway so hard that I thought the whole mirror got ripped off the car. When I stopped to look, the mirror glass was gone and there was a hole in the plastic protector but the paint looked fine. I peeled off the plastic and wiped off the mirror and there isn't a scratch on it. Replaced the glass the next day and it's good as new.
My car had water stains on the aluminum wheels that would not come off during a wash. I got aluminum polish from pep boys and a soft sponge thing for my drill. Took about 3 minutes per wheel to make them new again.
I'm originally from Minnesota and love that state. I see a lot of people on here are from there.

I got my first Vette, 2009 C6 coupe M6 Cyber Gray, last week. Drove it to work every day this week. I am loving this ride.
I'm sure you'll keep enjoying yours.

I ordered a predator and an escort 9500ix radar detector yesterday. With mirror mount. :-)
These pictures are at Lake Mead near the visitors center where there is a hike along the old railroad tracks. Lake Las Vegas is about 10 miles away.
Don't go by there for a little while though. They're doing major road construction that I didn't know about til I was already in it. Lot's of gravel rocks and tar chunks everywhere. Looks like it will be a month or two at the least before it's done. This is the road that goes to Arizona and hoover Dam.
DH/I went out to LV in 2007 and again in 2010. We visited Hoover Dam in 2007 and the new overpass/highway was in the beginning stages. I hope the construction will be completed soon. Next time we visit LV we would like to go back to the area.
BTW... What kind of camera do you have? Your pictures are amazing! Please let me know and PM me if you prefer. I know this is off topic and don't want to jeopardize your thread.
Thanks and congrats again on your Corvette!
Any digital SLR still being sold in stores today is going to be capable of amazing images.
There are some point and shoot cameras that make nice images as well but they are the most expensive ones.
It's the size of the sensor that counts, not the megapixel number.
So the bridge you spoke of is all done. It looks great if your standing on the dam looking up at it. If you drive on the new bridge however, all you can see is the sky. They have cement walls blocking the view so you can't see any of the canyon or the damn. I'm certain there would be accidents every day if they didn't do that.
There is a spot where you can pull over and then walk onto the bridge for a great view. The sidewalk is on the other side of the cement wall to keep tourists and cars separated.
The construction is all along the highway on the Nevada side before the bridge. Not sure about anything going on with the Arizona side.

Got home and my predator was on the door step. After install I took it out for a quick spin and punched the throttle while rolling about 20 mph. Wheels spun into 2nd gear and kept spinning until I let off the gas at 65ish. Scary part is I didn't turn off traction control.
The sound was incredible. Just ferocious!
It's like riding the most exciting roller coaster any time you want.
