I am possibly buying a 1978 Corvette. Then issue is that I don't make nearly enough money to cover my current hobbies and toys. I have a 1976 Oldsmobile 98 with a 455. While me and that car have some serious history, the engine is the only thing worth the rebuild. I would love to rebuild the engine so she gets around 500-600 hp and put it into a C3 'vette as these are my favorite style of Corvette. This car that I'm looking at runs, but the front clip either needs to be replaced or major repair work. It needs a bunch of other cosmetic work, but I'm looking to make the 'vette custom so a lot of the old may go anyways. The car will cost around $5500 to buy, and anything cheaper is either just the body and frame, and in a lot worse shape. The big thing is whether that 455 will fit or not.
Any advice is appreciated and good sources to fiind parts (front clip, aftermarket hood) will definitely help. Also, if this is even worth starting, a good heads up if I'm walking into a **** storm would be nice.
Cheers.

So I finally have my car!
She's a '77, the interior is stripped but it came with all new stuff that I need to install, and allegedly it ran when it was parked but it's been sitting for years. There is a crack in the fiberglass in the rear clip and it will need a paint job.
So hopefully after I put the inside together and get some fresh fuel in it I should have a running Corvette.

I've been enjoying my '63 Convertible for 45 years now,so I guess I'm hooked?
This Winter I'm in the midst of a freshening up the body and paint, since it's been 25 years since the car was done last. No major damage to existing paint other than normal wear and tear from driving.I also wanted to improve the fit and alignment of the Headlight Buckets, as well as some service to their operation.
The overhaul of the headlight motors and bucket seals is now complete. The folks at "Paragon" supplied the bits and pieces, excellent quality.
Enjoying The Forum, and expect that I'll have future inquiries as I proceed through the process.
Cheers, Bill.

Punchy8504 - you really need to repost the update and some of the info from your original post in the C3 General section of the forum. I'm going to close this one as you brought back a 4+ year old thread in the Intros section.
