1st time vette owner of a proud 1971 454/360 with 31K original miles
I recently purchased a 197 corvette with a 454/360HP. Sweet looking car. Nice looking car. Found out that it was running poorly due to some mechanical work done by obvious worthless mechanics. Firing order was absolutely incorrect. Distributor was way off. Had to pull out the distributor and reset it correctly, fixed the firing order, changes the plugs, wires, points, cap, rotor, carb adjustments... for starters. After all the above, she purs rather nicely. However she bogs when I jump on it starting around 40 MPH. Still need to work on tuning. Want to improve engine looks but fearful to destroy original car value. Just having fun playing with my new toy!!!
