Default new member, old guy, old tires

HI , I have owned several corvettes and built several chevy powered street rods also, recently bought a 1999 c5 with 10,000 miles and one owner. I need to replace the 17 year old goodyear run flats. Been told by several people to save the original tires as they are THE original tires that came on the car. what am I missing here? who would want 17 year old tires? Your thoughts would be welcome....Doug34

I wouldnt want them either, but you may get a better response by posting your question in the C5 section. Congrats and welcome aboard.

In a collector aspect, original tires are desirable. I have the original spare tire to my 1972, and while the C5 isn't 40 years old, it is sadly going to be 20 years old next year. People are restoring C5's, and in a collector's world, original tires are desirable. You may not personally want them, but find someone on the CF that might.
