New guy, not new to Vettes, C4 shopping
Hey everyone!
Found the forum while shopping for C4's. My first Vette was an '87 coupe, and I've also had a '91, '94, '92, and '96 in that order, all auto coupes, as well as a smattering of C5's and 1 C6.
I recently sold my '00 auto, and I'm looking for a C4 again. Personal opinion, but they just feel more "Vette" to me, even though I enjoyed my C5's immensely. I even took 1 of them over 200k miles.
A little about me: I grew up on cars, have worked in the motorcycle aftermarket, and have been building cars for almost as long as I could hold a wrench. I'm an LTL truck driver currently, so I spend my day acting like a UPS driver with a bigger truck. Pays the bills and buys cool stuff!
Outside of Vettes, I have owned pretty much anything under the sun. Imports (DSM's, Supras, 300zx's), Mustangs, F-Bodies (a TON of those), and all sorts of oddballs.
Daily drivers I tend to stay more European, but after years of that, and currently losing my Jetta TDI to the EPA crap, I've decided to go back to a Vette as a summer daily driver. I've got a Subaru Legacy GT for winter, as well as my wife's Beetle and an AWD Chrysler Pacifica.
I'm also a big nerd. My family and I collect video games, and nerdy memorabilia. We're big Star Wars fans, and I'm a massive Transformers nerd, as well as my son.
My oldest daughter is a huge car freak. She loves shows, cruises, and generally working on them with me.
So, here we are. My normal course is to take them and crank the horsepower through the roof (my last build was over 800whp). But, I'm getting old, and we're looking for a nice, reliable cruiser. 300ish whp tops, and maybe even a Vert.
My wife and I are also shopping for a C3 chassis to build a nice Pro Touring car for her. She finally wants her own Vette, after years of playing with mine.
Sorry for the novel, thanks for an awesome looking forum, and I look forward to cruising with some other Vette guys.
