Howdy,
New member in GA. Never had a Corvette, but have wanted one for about 17 years (since I was 16).
I've set my Corvette budget to be about $500mo. I'd like a C6 Grand Sport or Z06. The wife would like the automatic Grand Sport. I'm fine with either after driving them. The GS was plenty fast for what I want it for - taking my girls out for spins.
We left this morning to pick up this car. It turned out to be a really bad deal and we had to walk. We spent 4 hours in the car (with kids) driving to get the car. Sales dude telling us is was clean, "I just physically checked out the Vette myself, and there are no issues with paint, wheels, etc. that would cause concern." It ended up having several issues. Lots of chrome flaking off the wheels, dirt on the engine in odd places, rusted rotors, a few screws that appeared to be taken off and put back at an angle, etc. I don't think they even washed it.
So, we're back on the hunt. Going to take our time and pick out a great car. Happy to be here with you guys!

See attached pics. Not sure why they were doing this, but both front wheels where flaking like this all over, not just in one spot. The tires also looked like a tiger got a hold of them with cuts in them.

Hey man, fellow GA resident here. I just picked up a C6 Z06 after looking for a solid month. My best advice is to shop and test drive until you find a deal you are completely happy with; no sense in rushing that large of a purchase. Good luck, post up when you find the one!
