Default FNG from the Texas Hill Country

Greetings all,

New guy here from Spring Branch, Texas -- just north of San Antonio. No 'vette yet, but shooting for a NCM delivery on a 2018 MY around this time next year. For now I'll have to make due with my lowly 2014 S5.

I've been lurking here for a little while trying to get up to speed on the C7's. I had an '05 GTO for eight years, camaros and a WS6 before that, was a moderator on LS2GTO.com, and really miss the sense of community real car guys and ladies bring.

Hopefully I'll be able to meet up with some of you all once I ditch the kraut kar and attend some cruises and events!

- Eric

You won't be disappointed with NCM delivery. You might also want to consider buyer's tour where you get to watch you car built. Check out some of the site vendors like McMulken for a really good deal.

Heh, my wife loves it too. It's a great car, and if I had a daily commute and lived in a harsher climate, I'd probably hold onto it. But given how little I drive since I work from home, it is essentially a toy. The C7 is a better toy! While the interior is a bit of a downgrade in terms of fit and finish, even the 1LT M7 I drove a few weeks ago just felt much more natural to me. The numbers didn't work though, and I was disappointed having to drive it home after walking away. First world problems I guess.

We're hoping to coordinate that trip so we can see it being built, then take delivery at NCM. Afterwards, it'll be a perfect ~1000 mile road trip back home to break her in. A friend of ours lives in Nashville so we'll fly there and hitch a 1 hour ride up to Bowling Green.

I've been keeping an eye on macmulkin's inventory and pricing over the last couple of weeks, and they're on the top of my list. I'll likely have to custom order to meet my specific needs, and of course the plant shutdown will play into the timing off all of this.

To do the buyer tour you have to make two trips. The car is held for a couple of weeks after build.

I must have missed that detail. Thanks for the heads-up!

So it turns out my first post on this forum was a lie. My apologies!

I won't be taking museum delivery after all. A great deal popped up on a CPO 2015 NRB convertible, M7 with NPP, wheels upgrade, and other stuff I'm still discovering. And, of course, I leave with a convertible right as a nasty storm blew through the Austin area!

Man - super nice looking Vert. I also have a new GS Vert here in Texas, Welcome and perhaps we will see you sometime as my daughter and her husband live in the Austin area.
We do also visit the Buda area to see my wife's sister and family. We are in Katy Tx.

Thank you, sir! That is a gorgeous GS! We're just north of San Antonio on 281 near the Guadalupe river. If you're ever in the area, shoot me a PM. I'd love to get a group together for a cruise out to the twisted sisters in the Vanderpool/Leakey area -- one of the prettiest parts of Texas and some of the best roads.

We have some great friends in Katy that I met through the GTO events, and my wife's family lives in Beaumont, so we're out that way pretty frequently.

Cool - I went to college at Lamar U. Small world. Hope to see you at the Invasion in Austin in July!
