First time owner: 2002 Red Z06 in Indiana
Forum Members,
Monday I let one of my dreams come true and I bought a Corvette. For months I had searched around everywhere, including out of state, just looking for the perfect one. I drove a few hours and test drove a couple and then mine popped up at a dealership 10 minutes from my town. I went to look at it and the rest fell into place.
It is a red 2002 Z06 with 33k miles. It has the factory mod red interior. Beautiful condition, the previous owner had a bra on it and kept it under a cover in his garage when it wasn't being driven. He did an excellent job keeping it in showroom condition. He even gave me the VHS owners video and the original window sticker that he laminated and kept with it. I'm speechless everytime I go to the garage and look at it.
I am planning to swap out the valve springs, add a partition behind the seats, and replace my front turn signal lenses (cracked) once I find a source for some nice OEM replacement ones. Today I found a set of service manuals for 2002 on the C5 parts for sale section, so I'd like to thank the member who sold those to me.
The only thing about the car that is not stock is the wheels. The ones it came with are of the factory Z06 wheel pattern, but they are chrome. I'm on the hunt for a nice set of factory Speedlines for it. I'm going to keep an eye on the used market, but I hear that the House of Wheels in Florida is a good source for new ones. My fiancé and I will be honeymooning in FL soon, so maybe I'll stop by and see if he has a set while I'm down that way.
This process has been very exciting. I learned a ton on this forum prior to making my purchase and I'm glad I did. Thank you for providing such a great resource to new guys like me. I'm looking forward to learning even more.
If anyone has a suggestion on a good Corvette club in central Indiana I'd like to join one.

Welcome to the Family. I am sure you are going to love your Z, I have an 03 and get a smile on my face every time I get in it.
Not sure where you are located at in Central IN, but if you google Indiana Corvette Clubs you will find a list for all of IN. withontact info.

Welcome! Your car and the color/interior combo made me fall in love with Z06's. I still have a soft sport for this car and the old school coupe appeal it gives. If I had extra cash, I would for sure own one. Congrats on the car!
