Howdy Folks,
I never thought I'd own a Corvette. I favor motorcycles because they are physically more engaging, but a buddy of mine kept asking me to drive his "other" Vette, and one thing led to another.
I bought the ZR-1 because I was intrigued with the design of the engine, liked the wider stance, and wanted to have a little more oomph than the stock C4. I wasn't a huge fan of the C4's design when it came out, but the ZR-1 dimensions make the C4 look good.
The car had 12,000 miles when I bought it last winter. Since then, I flushed all the fluids, corrected most of the paint, and put 3000 miles on it.
The ZR-1 does not take kindly to you draping your left wrist over the steering wheel while you smoke a stogie with your right hand. The power band is high in the RPM range (peak torque at 5600 RPM more or less), the steering requires your full attention and a bit of muscle, and the brakes are effective but hard. Although I've been riding motorcycles fast and driving cars a bit quickly for a long time, this car is capable of way more than I am. I've taken some spirited runs with it, but I'd have to take it to the track to go any faster responsibly.
Thanks for having this forum. I will upload a few pics and I have a few questions. Looking forward to talking Vettes with you all.

Interesting story about your introduction into the ZR-1 world.
Sounds like you've already got the permagrin.
