Long time Corvette owner - just found forum
Hi, my name is Jeff and I have a Red 1985 Vette that I purchased new. It now has 38,300 mile on it and everything is original.
For the first three years I drove the car on a daily basis, I then parked it in my garage and started to drive my wife's car, as I bought her a 1987 BMW convertible as an anniversary present. It was a Silver convertible for our 25th (silver) anniversary.
The Vette was blocked in by a boat on a trailer and when I finally got around to moving the boat to run the car, the battery was dead. After a few months I replaced the battery and when I turned the ignition key to start it, the dash lit up and then went completely dead along with everything else on the car. It sat in the garage until four years ago when I found Corvette Performance Center, Canton, GA. After a four month wait (excellent service facility but they only work on 3 cars at a time) they picked up the car and six weeks later delivered a perfect running and fully detailed beauty.
I don't run the car much now, but I am saving it for my oldest grandson, who is in love with it. Max is 18 and a freshman at UGA - he's going to have to wait until he gets a little more maturity into his young head before he gets the car.
