Proud owner of a 1976 C3 in metallic brown
Hey all. Great resource here! Been lurking the forums for a while now while looking at buying a C3. Finally pulled the trigger on one last week (see attached pics).
First order of business....rebuild that carb, replace hoses, get timing right, new weather seals etc..........and the list goes on lol. I will try to track most of my progress for you guys.
I've attached some photos. The color is growing on me. From the previous owner (I am the 4th now) he had it repainted with the original metallic brown.
There is some bubbling on the hood and the clear coat is coming off one of the t-tops but that's the least of my problems for now. I was lucky to find this L48 in running condition with a 4-speed.
The car does have some interesting history that came along with it. I have the original factory window sticker, owners manual, numerous shop invoices over the years, and it was chosen as a Celebrity Pick for Corvettes at Carlisle Pennsylvania in 2013 for its paint. I believe the previous owner stated he went 9 years in a row. It's only about 3 hours from me now so I'm sure I'll make it out there.
Enjoy!
Pat

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your C3!
I had a '69 Z28 in what appears to be the same color (called Burnished Brown on the Z). Like you it took a little while to grow on me, but then I really liked in and never saw another in the same color.
Thanks for sharing the pics!

lol it is pretty neat. Unlike the plastic junk made in today's cars this thing is actual wood. This is my first corvette. I have been searching for 9 months.

Melting Slicks
I love that color. I had a 1965 Corvette that I painted that color after seeing it on a new 1976. This is the only picture I have of it.
