Starting off a little differently
I'm joining this forum before purchasing a Corvette to learn from those that have been around these cars for a while. I currently own a 55 Chevy and joined trifive.com shortly after getting it on the road 8 years ago. I have found trifive.com to be a very useful resource when I need help and have given back multiple times with pictures and my experiences working on my 55. I also own a 79 MBG and belong to mgexp.com and have found that forum to also be very useful and a great resource.
So this time I'm joining a forum first to get some guidance on what to look for when shopping for my first Corvette.
This process may take a while since I will be selling my 2 existing classics before purchasing a Corvette. I definitely want a convertible and I definitely want a manual transmission. I'm leaning very much towards a C6, possibly later model since there are some examples out there in my expected price range (there is some dependency on what I can get for the 2 existing cars).
Will keep you posted as I begin my search and looking forward to driving my dream car for many years at some point.

Welcome to the forum.
Whichever generation of Corvette you buy, be sure to post your questions, if any, in the General or Tech forum for that generation.

Welcome to the forum!
As Vette DD said, there are many helpful members in each generation's section of the forum. Also, many of the generations have stickies at the top that address a lot of common questions or concerns that will help you know more what to look for when you go to purchase your Vette.
Best wishes with your search!
