My first Corvette! 2008 Z06 2LZ
Greetings! I am thrilled to say that I have finally joined the elite club of people fortunate enough to call themselves Corvette owners. A little background -
When I was 16, Chevrolet announced the specs for the upcoming C6 Z06. At the time, I had not yet gotten my first car (eventually would be a 2005 Mustang GT a month before I turned 17 - I still have the car to this day). I remember thinking how cartoonishly spectacular the specs were - a 7.0L V8 that revved to 7000 RPM, in a 3150-lb car? It seemed almost comical at the time, but since then that car has always been in the back of my mind as the end-all be-all dream car, at any price. Now, at age 29, having saved up a bit of money, and after an exhausting and frustrating search, I finally found and purchased the Z06 of my dreams. Blade Silver, 25k miles, 2LZ package, bone stock except for a [crappy and in need of replacement] JVC head unit, and more importantly, a Package 4 head rework from American Heritage Performance.
The car is everything I thought it would be. It has mountains of torque anywhere, which I think makes it exceptionally easy to drive around town. It's extremely civil and comfortable, and it makes for a phenomenal daily driver. Gas mileage is very good, although if i drive "enthusiastically" it consumes fuel at an astounding rate. Most importantly, the car is what I can only describe as pants-shittingly fast - at least compared to what I'm used to. I plan to keep it stock and drive it daily, and maybe put a catback on it at some point (Corsa or Borla most likely).
My biggest issues with the car - it is in pristine condition and was garage-kept and not so much as even parked in the sun - I feel guilty about driving it daily and getting rock chips or seat wear or other signs of use. I'm sure I'll get over it, but I driving it I am terrified of having anything happen to it, and parking it anywhere usually involves a Zapruder-level of analysis as to avoiding door dings or careless drivers. It's just too perfect of a vehicle and I want to keep it that way.
One question I had - the front splitter seems to have the same issues everyone talks about. When I got the car, the splitter was a bit scraped up, and was sagging maybe 1/8-1/4 inch or so from the fascia. Upon closer inspection, the splitter looks mostly fine (believe or not I don't really care about minor scratches on that part as I consider it to be a wearable item that is easily replaced), but it does look like it's pulled down a little bit, with the attachment holes in the fascia giving way slightly. I've seen people talk about using washers/clips/bolts etc to remedy that - does anyone know exactly how to do this? Hard to tell from the explanations I've seen so far and I don't want to start dismantling things if I don't know exactly what I'm doing.
Anyway, here's some pics of the car, and feel free to give me advice if there's anything I should know about owning one of these beautiful vehicles!!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting your C6 Z06 - it's a beautiful car.
As far as your question goes, I would suggest you post it up on the C6 Corvette ZR1 and Z06 section. Members over there should be able to answer your question.

Welcome to the forum!
Congrats. on your sharp C6 Z06!
Great advice above for posting your question, may also consider posting in the C6 General area as well, as the Grand Sport use the same one too.
