It's Daily Driver y'all......
Greetings from Southern Nevada,
We're the new owners of a used 2017 purchased from a local who's been a performance car guy his whole life and presented my wife and I the opportunity to purchase his latest ride. We've had a tough year and decided that we'd waited long enough to grab the grail car I've wanted for over 40 years. We're calling it our Mid-Life Celebration car since we've made it this far. Even though she completed breast cancer treatments this fall (looking good so far) and I met long term career goals we both watched too many friends pass away or become infirm. Now was the time to take the plunge! I was convinced by my wife and son to go for the gusto with a Z06 rather than buy something I'd have to work on to really bring a smile to my face (not that the Z won't see mods once it's past warranty!).
Anyway, our search began when we hooked the laptop up to the big screen and proceeded to build the dream Z on chevrolet.com: triple black, 2LZ, M7, and an eye for value, minimal CF and no Z07. I drove a 2016 Z and was instantly hooked! After swallowing hard and deciding I didn't want to soak up the depreciation hit on a 2019 the search for a solid used Z began in earnest. "Our" Z showed up while searching online and we really liked it when we saw it, even more so in person even though the only item it had in common with our 2019 dream car was the red calipers....
It's a pretty unique car so if you're a local or possibly even from the southwest you'll probably know the one.... It's LBR with silver stripes, Z07 package, color matching vents, and chrome wheels; not exactly the batmobile we had in mind. Scott even went so far as to break it in for us. Still purring like a kitten with 12,000 miles on it and it's been autocrossed, drag raced and even went 185 in Mojave!
We've started mingling with some of the local Vette crowd and have found it to be very warm and welcoming to us "youngsters". I've been around several car groups and the Vette community seems to be different; nothing to prove to anyone, willing to help all, and just there for the camaraderie and good times.
I've cruised this forum for a while and have found it to contain a wealth of knowledge and "other stuff" put forth by a wide variety of folks. It reminds me of another forum I frequent (you 87'ers know which one)!
Looking forward to being an active member of the Vette community.
Hope to see you on the trail.

p.s. How do you keep the CCM brakes from squeaking?! (I know.... turn up the music!)

Welcome and congrats on getting your Z06. Beautiful car you bought.
As for your brakes question, it would be best to ask that question in the C7 Z06 Section.

Beautiful C7, congrats. Lots of good information here on the forum. There should be several Corvette clubs in the LV area spend a little time checking them out, I think you both will enjoy ‘em.
