Default 2013 Corvette Build-Out/2014 Corvette Reveal Information

If you attended the Chevrolet Dealer Meeting last month in Las Vegas, NV, you are already aware the next generation Corvette is on the horizon. Today, Chevrolet is pleased to announce the 2014 Corvette will be unveiled in Detroit, MI, on Sunday evening, January 13, 2013.
To mark the countdown to the highly anticipated debut, Chevrolet is revealing the new Crossed Flags logo for the all-new, seventh-generation Corvette. The new Corvette Crossed Flags design is a more technical, more angular, and more swept appearance – a proportion that echoes the new car. It is also a more detailed representation, showing greater depth, color and attention to detail than previous Crossed Flags logos. An image of this new design as well as the press release is attached for your review.
2013 Corvette Build-Out Information
Today’s announcement regarding 2014 Corvette reveal provides an opportunity to review the build-out plans for the 2013 Corvette – the last model year for the C6 Corvette.
2013 Corvette production is scheduled to end during February 2013. Production of the new 2014 Corvette is scheduled to start mid-third quarter, 2013. There will be a five to six month gap between the end of 2013 production and the start of 2014 production. As announced this past January, dealers are required to sell at retail a minimum of four new and unused Corvettes during the 2012 calendar year sales period ending January 2, 2013, and have met both the sales and service training requirements of the current 2013 Corvette by August 31, 2012, to be eligible for the initial estimated production guide number for the 2014 Corvette (please see GM GlobalConnect Message G_0000102999, dated January 9, 2012, for further details).
There are two consensus cycles remaining for the 2013 Corvette, including the consensus cycle that starts today (Thursday, October 18, 2012) and ends Monday, October 22, 2012. The final consensus will start Thursday, November 8, 2012, and end Monday, November 12, 2012.
Chevrolet previously announced orders with the exterior colors Inferno Orange Metallic (RPO: 28U) and Super Sonic Blue Metallic (RPO: GLB) are no longer being accepted for production. The 427 Convertible Collector Edition model will be available but on a limited/constrained basis for build-out. Chevrolet does not anticipate having to constrain any other models or options for the build-out of the 2013 Corvette; however, you are encouraged to review the weekly constraint information available in GM GlobalConnect’s Order Workbench for any updates.
Very important - the processing of sold customer orders without dealer allocation will end on Friday, October 26, 2012. Dealers will be required to have allocation available over these final Dealer Order Submission cycles to submit a customer sold order (order types SRE or SDC) on or after Saturday, October 27, 2012. This includes sold customer orders submitted with Corvette Engine Build Experience (RPO: PBC); Corvette VIN Ending Selection Program (RPO: PIN); and/or Corvette Museum Delivery Program (RPO: R8C). To summarize, customers will be advised by Chevrolet that any sold customer order submitted on or after Saturday, October 27, 2012, is not guaranteed to be produced prior to the end of 2013 Corvette production run.
Over the coming weeks, Chevrolet will be sharing additional information to build anticipation for the next Corvette generation. Customers can be directed to the Corvette fan page on Facebook, or the exclusive one13thirteen.com website for further information, updates and to view the countdown to reveal clock. Dealership personnel are encouraged to visit the 2014 Corvette channel on GMLaunch.com and enroll in the text notification service for the latest launch news.
It is just a matter of time now before the world sees the next great Corvette.
Good luck and good selling,
