Can I extend a GMPP purchased from you?
I purchased a 72/50 Major Guard Coverage on 9/2/03 which expires on 9/9/06. CAn I extend this? I only have 31k miles.
I just read Dennis' post regarding 3months/3,000. Am I out of luck due to the "months" clause?

GMPP starts the day you buy it and not the vehicle in-service date. They only coincide if you buy the GMPP from the original dealer at the time you take delivery of the original vehicle.

Clarification
O.K. Here goes on the GMPP
GMPP starts on the day of purchase of the warranty and not the In Service Date and starts at odometer reading at that time and not 0.
This is what confuses everyone-TO EXTEND YOUR PRESENT GMPP THAT YOU HAVE, this is where the 3 months and 3000 miles enters into the picture. You must have this left to be able to extend or it can not be done.
Any questions email me at gmpp@fichtnerchevrolet.com
Thanks

In simpler terms.....If I purchase a new Z06 and we know it comes with a 3yr/36K warranty ....and I in turn purchase a 5yr/60K mile warranty from Dennis....in reality, all I am getting extra is a 2 year and 24,000 mile warranty(since GM gives you the rest...) Correct Dennis? So, what I suggest would be, is to, wait until the Factory warranty is about to expire, then purchase the (for example) 5yr/60K mile warranty. Then it becomes a total of 8 years/96K miles.....albeit for a higher price since one waited a tad longer to buy it....Corrections here?

Zeeman that is correct but most customers wait until their year is about up (because most customers do not put 12K on a Vette in a year) and then purchase like a 72/48 or 72/60 and then they have basically only 2 years of overlap and they save about $3500-$4000 doing this. You would have 2 years of price increase along with a possibility of a plan change of coverages and most customers do not want to risk waiting and paying more and getting less. Most people forget about an extended warranty because it is the last thing on their mind so I recommend buying it when you have it fresh in your mind and buy an extra year or two and then forget about it.
