I placed my order for a 50th annerversary back on july 9, is there any way to find out when this car will be assembled so that i could actually go up to the plant and watch some of the assembly. my order number is FJRW58. i am getting museum delivery also.
Stay in touch with your sales manager at the dealership, and he can be the most helpful in getting a date for you. He can tell right now whether it will be a Phase 1 or Phase 2 car. Don't be alarmed if it will be Phase 2.
I am in the same predicament you are in, I only know the order number, and that is a real bummer. I don't care when the car will be built, I just wish I knew when. An order number is produced at the time the order goes in, but until GM gets ready to send it in to Bowling Green for production, I have found out no one knows too much. I spoke with Mr. Bob Breeding at the assembly plant earlier this week and when I mentioned Phase 1 or 2, he did not know what I was talking about. It seems as though people on this forum are more aware of certain things than some people in the GM organization. I did see an AE Coupe Thurs. nite, and man, was it gorgeous!!
I'm in the same boat as you in regards to my order, but by this time next year it will all be a distant memory to both of us.
Lots of luck,
Nat
Ask your dealer for a printout of the vehicle order event history. this will show you where yur order stands. Ask him what his allocation is for AE cars. The dealers know what they will be getting from GM for the year and about when it will be accepted for production by GM. You can also call GM customer assistance at 800-222-1020. they will assign a case # to you when you first call in. Tell them you have a 2003 AE corvette on order and wish to check on production date. They may not be able to actually tell you much till car is sequenced for production and assigned a production week (TPW). Then Bob Breed ing at the plant can tell you when car is actually on the line about a week ahead of the actually production date. Go to http://www.50thregistry.com to read about our car being built as well as others. Good Luck
Thanks for the help guys but now my dealer has given me some bad news. I called my dealer and he says it will be at least November before I get my car because all of the cars that he was alotted was bumped off until phase 2. My car is priority 1 on the list but this just doesn't seem fair since I ordered this car back on July 9th, but I guess there is nothing I can really do except wait.
