A posting on another thread indicates that the 2003 AT is a upgraded version calable of handling 600 lbft of torque. This AT is identified as a lead item for the C6. Is there any indication from your parts or maintenance information that this is the case?
I have made multiple phone calls, and at this point I can get no information out of GM at all. The parts tech guys don't have a clue what I'm even talking about, and the service side clams right up. They won't even talk about it. I guess we are going to have to wait and see.

I'll do some checking tomorrow at GM Powertain and see if I can get a straight answer.
The 2003 is a 65E trans versus 60E trans for previous years. The trans has been modified with certain bushings being replaced with bearings, hardened parts in certain areas. It does have a higher torque rating than the previous trans. Exactly what bushings have been replaced, and/or parts hardened will have to remain a mystery…for now, as well as the exact HP/TQ output the trans can handle. :D
Its good to hear about the upgrade if only we can get it ordered. We have been trying to get one orded for over a month and no luck with the constraint on the performance axle. Maybe this week. :D
GM is in the process of updating their training materials on the trans. I'll see if I can get a copy when it is printed. This should show the changes made between bushings and bearings; and should have some comments regarding the hardened part.
