Where did you get your boot that covers positive wire at the alternator? I also have a Mechman alternator and the factory boot does not work very well.

Isn't it fairly easy to remove & install a new alternator? My vette has 72,000 miles on it

The Wilwood system has been engineered to work with their front and rear calipers along with the stock master. I know Mike at SSB and people at Wilwood (one of sponsor of the Optima Ultimate Street car) and they tell me that one of the biggest issues is "home engineering". I would buy a system that you know works.

AP brakes (owned bt Raybestos, I beleive) is much better than the narrow Wilwoods, but they also cost twice as much and you won't have an engineered system.

Just my opinion.

Im trying to decide between those brakes vs running the AP t1 kit up front with z51 calipers on base brackets for the rear (for f/r piston area balance). I think the issue of having to purchase wider wheels for the AP brakes might sway me toward the wilwood kit.

How do you like the wilwood brakes? Ive been thinking of going that route.
