    Became a NIASE master mechanic almost when the program started. Did this for 25 years. During that time was involved in SCCA Formula Vee racing; driving, designing and building chassis and building engines on my home dynamometer. Changed careers into manufacturing engineering working on clinical blood analyzers until retiring after 15 years.

    Thanks for your photos & Info on your EPAS Conversion in your '60 C-1.
    My Questions regarding this Conversion are: Is the single red wire shown, in your photo of the control unit, connected to the top row, last pin on the left in the middle recepticle?
    AND, on the steering wheel side of the motor it looks like the double DD tube is welded to the steering shaft near the motor housing. Was this done with no damage to the Motor, Bearings or the Plastic Ring Gear inside?
    And on the Gearbox side, Did you cut the U-joint off at the splined end and weld it to the Double DD tube to mate that side of the motor to the corvettes steering shaft
    I'm In the planning stages of converting my '58 in the same way and will probably use the corolla Epas since looks like the Motor will clear my brake and clutch mount easier than the larger Saturn Ion assembly.
