Hi Paul, can you look at my post, I have a lot of free play in my steering wheel, my son in law is a very good mech, but would like to hear from forum members before he starts tearing things apart, thanks.

Hi Paul, I saw your message about scanners. I manufacture a Bluetooth scanner for 1995 and older GM vehicles. I work in Orlando. Let me know if you would like to try one out. I can be reached at 321-480-6182. Good luck with your car!

Pcolt94; This is hitch109 with the PKE System that isn't working. Thank you so much for identifying the twoadditional fuses (40 and 42). I pulled 42 and it was blown. 40 was OK. I replaced 42 and it immediately blew. Also this vehicle has a replacement stereo an Alpine unit. So I haven't solved it yet, but at least I have a lead! Thanks again.

    Hi Paul,

I'm writing to you as you seem to know a lot about Bose stereos. Like you, I'm an EE so I'm not worried about getting inside of the Bose amps, but before I start replacing capacitors I wanted to bounce my plan off someone who knows more than me.

I have an '84 Corvette with a '96 Camaro Bose CD player that I installed recently. Before the stereo change, my right front amp had a lot of low frequency distortion and my right front amp was silent. My rear amps/speakers are working fine.

After the cassette-CD change, nothing changed with my front amps and I checked the CD on the bench with an oscilloscope and it had signals on all 4 outputs. Therefore, I've concluded that my front right speaker needs the capacitors replaced and I'm hoping that my left front speaker will start working if I replace its capacitors.

My worry is that the right front speaker with no sound may need more than capacitors. Any advice you can offer about this?

I also wired in an IPOD jack to the front of the CD player and it's great being able to listen to AM/FM/CD/IPOD. Now if my amps just worked ...

Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. I also grew up on a car lot and I'm an ex-private pilot.

Have not noticed any road noise difference that I could notice more or less. Just hope the Kumho work out well in the future.

Had a similar problem on my 94. Same Goodrich tires. Ended up buying 4 Kumho ASX. One rear wheel needed fixing so just have 3 plus the minispare on at present. Road noise seems quieter to me. Have you noticed similar?
