There was a post somewhere where you mentioned the difference in control arms in the early to later years but I can't find it. It had something to do with later years and chevrolet trying to lose weight on the c3.
Should there be any difference in upper and lower controls for a 72 going on a 69?
Do control arms have part numbers on them anywhere? I like to keep my car as original as possible if I can.

I just wanted to forward this ad of a "like new" 71 corvette. There are some very good pictures of a very low mileage car.

Hey Alan this is ttoptom1 and I mentioned to you I had a CE motor in my 68. Finally got #'s. Engine pad is CE8 73342. Casting #3933180 and Vin 194378S424223. I got car from friend about 10 yrs ago and finally finished it last year. Now working on 69 Camaro SS clone. Funny thing about my Vette is PO said he thought it was 327/300. When I tore engine down for rebuild found 11/1 pistons, large journals and double hump heads. Makes me believe it was a real L-79 that was replaced sometime in 68-69. He sais never performed like he thought. Upon checking I found the ol' 'carpet under gas pedal' not letting carb do it's thing. Good luck with info and if you get time may post info on forum and see what others have to say. Thanks and have a good day! Tom

Hello Alan, getting ready for a windshield install on my '68 coupe and your posts have been very informative. I've' sealed the stainless center roof molding along with the RR and LR stainless rear upper roof moldings. What did you use to fill in the ~1/4' gap between those stainless rear upper roof moldings and the body?

Quoting from a Chevrolet Dealer Service Information Bulletin dated 14 April, 1969:

The first letter will designate the GM division which produced the engine. C-Chevrolet L-Oldsmobile K-Cadillac B-Buick P-Pontiac

The second letter will designate the type of unit "E" engine or "T" transmission.

The number following the letter will designate the model year "9" for 1969.

The last five digits specify the service replacement unit sequence number. The group of numbers to be used by Chevrolet manufacturing plants [for engines, CRG] are as follows:

    Flint V-8 engine plant 20000 to 49999
Tonowanda motor plant 50000 to 79999

Example: Number CE900175 designates Chevrolet engine - 1969 year, and the 175th unit produced for service at the Flint motor plant.

This numbering system applies to service engine assemblies, partial engines, fitted cylinder cases, cylinder cases, transmission assemblies and transmission cases.

    Hello Allen,

Several people have suggested I contact you for advise regarding the drag car I have. I don't see an area that's not public. Is this the best place to chat?

    Thank you

    Hey Alan,
A couple of weeks ago you recommended Tony's Corvette Shop in Gaithersburg. I'm in Ellicott City, and I was wondering if you've heard of a place called Vette Tech in Hanover, MD? There a bit closer to me and I thought I'd get your opinion on them.
