Iím just an old retired guy with a passion for Corvettes. 2006 to 2012 worked as the Lead Noise Engineer on the performance small block V8 engines for General Motors Powertrain Group. Responsibilities included all Corvettes, all V8 powered Camaros, and the Cadillac CTS-V.

Though my primary passion is the C5 and C6 Corvettes, any well designed vehicle will catch my attention. This addiction I believe was acquired at a very young age. I think this condition is known as being a Gear Head.

I'had two instances of emergency brake hangup on my 2010 GS 6 speed coupe. Please see my recent posts on the subject. Any remedy short of not using the E-brake?

Eric since your a gear head like me and you've helped me with the clutch heres a new Q. I notice that Im having problems shifting into 1st a lot? I saw you changed your gear oil would that help? I am also a Porsche guy and have 2 hot cars a 73 RS hot rod with a 3.4 250hp 240 torque. and a 90/93 RUF BTR C-4 468hp 450 torque 205MPH street car. I put swepco oil in the tranny of my 73 and made a huge difference in my shifting. The dogs work a ton better. Thats why the question of the vette tranny oil. I didnt drive the car very much after I bought it a few weeks ago as the clutch went out in the 1st few miles so I had no base line to compare but I dont remember 1st being difficult at all until I got the car back? Maybe its just my imagination. anyway do you have suggestions? Thanks Jim F

Decided to replace the cam, I saw a little rub on #6 exhaust lobe .. funny thing is that lifter showed no damage.
