The model number is LT 1046 and the serial number is 1K226H10534.
How many hours of service should I reasonable expect to get from this mower before having engine or tranny problems?
What would a good used deck sell for?
This is the third rider I have had since 1996. I usually keep them 5 or 6 years and sell them for around $700-800 and buy a new one. I've never had any engine/tranny problems with any of the three but I hate it when they start dollaring me to death with replacing wheels, tie rods, decks, pulleys, spindles, etc.
Do you think there is a reasonable chance of finding a good used deck?

    Hi Red,
I enjoy reading your posts and have a question about a replacement mower deck for my 2007 Cub Cadet LT1046. It was built in Nov 2006.
I have a really sandy yard and the mower deck is getting full of sandblast holes. I need to find a good used replacement deck as I don't want to pay over $400 for just a new deck shell for a six year old mower with over 300 hours on it.
I am hoping to find a used LT 1046 with a blown up engine or transmission with a good deck. My spindles are still good as they have been replaced once while still under warranty and later rebuilt (new bearings) by me.
Would a newer model LT1046 deck fit my mower?
My cell number is 251 689-2903 if you would rather call me.

    Thanks,
    Sanford in Saraland, Al.

I had Ed Wright at Fastchip.com tune my 85. I have to say he responded quickly. Had the new chip in Fedex the same day. Ed seems very knowledgable. I'm just not sure how much patience he has for changes after the original chip is burned. Ask plenty of questions so you know what you're getting.
