Greetings to all
Several Cruise In III attendies have expressed an interest in Running the
Deals Gap, south of Knoxville,Tenn on Sunday May26, before heading home.
I have never run the Gap but have talked to several who have, and they say
it is a blast, so we have decided to swing by on the way home to Florida and
give it a go. If you read the post Deals Gap Help needed, you probably have a good idea of what we want to do and those who expressed an interest in
going along. Basically the plan is to meet some place near Knoxville early
Sunday mornning May,26 and do the run, maybe several times. Some CF
members local to the area and Deals Gap vetrans will hopefully lead the way.
What a great way to finish a FUN weekend.
I propose that some time Sat. afternoon, May 25 we get together and caravan to the Knoxville area and find a place to stay the night, maybe
the local CF members can suggest a place, Early Sunday, meet for breakfast
then head for the Gap. If you think you would like to join in the fun let me
know. Also what do you think about the following:
1. When should we depart BG? (Sat afternoon? Time? OR? )
2. Would you like to caravan to Knoxville? or meet there?
3. Any sugguestions were to stay Near Knoxville (possiable party time?)
4. What time should we meet in the Knoxville area on Sunday.

I agree. It's tough to fit it all in. Maybe just settle for Sunday afternoon run? Another teaser map and some links.<--

Five or six of the Rat Pack may join up!

I don't think any of us have signed up for the Banquet so leaving Staurday afternoon would be fine...I think we would like to run the Dragon early to allow us enough time to get home...We were planning on spending the night in Bowling Green and getting an early sunday start back to VA

Give it some more thought...I think it would be excellent :D

Hey Jack We would love to have the Rat Pack join us, And you must have read my mind, That is exactally what we would like to do. Run the gap Early Sunday and head back to Fla. We weren't planning on the Banquet anyway and I think the caravan to Knoxville Sat afternoon would be a blast. Let me know and I will start looking for a good place to stay in the knoxville area, maybe you or some of the locals could suggest a motel???
PS Looks like we will be neighbors again this year, I'll leave the light on for you

I believe most or all of the PACK will be "TOM"S GUESTS" in Bowling Green, might as well stay with him in Knoxville too!

guys, I cant speak for everyone, but I think the majority of the people will want to go to the banquet. I enjoyed it last year.. Id like to do the run with you but I cant see driving 1200 miles to leave early :)

Understand completely Its a pretty full weekend, But you are welcome to
meet us Sunday Morning in Knoxville do the run then head home, its not that far out of the way, In any case we look foward to seeing you at the Cruise-in III

Whatever day you guys decide on is fine with me. I'll be there as well as at the cruise in. I'll go ahead and volunteer forum member TennLee as well to go . If we can help out or do anything let us know as we're local to the gap.

If there are enough, we could do 2 caravans and meet up. Those of us leaving saturday could caravan down on saturday and spend the day and night and perhaps the next day there. Then meet up with the groups coming in on Sunday. Just a thought. How many people we talking about so far?

Thats an option for anyone who wants to do the banquet . They can meet us
Sunday Morning or they may want to do a second run later in the Day. Most of the folks leaving Saturday have to do the run early Sunday because we
still have a 500+ mile trip home. In any case the more thr merrier.... Jim
