Ditto that observation. Food costs were quite reasonable in previous years.

I'm hearing its because of significantly increased cost levied on food vendors by Carlisle Events. Lance, if so, I hope this doesn't turn out to be "penny wise and pound-foolish."

For our part, after leaving the show grounds today we stopped by Dicks Sporting Goods to buy a soft side cooler and then off to a Giant to buy bottled water and soda. I think that even at $25 for the cooler, we'll be money ahead (at least one vendor was charging $4 for a 16-oz soda).

Made it to Carlisle. Only a few pockets of rain on the way over. Now to find a car wash to get the Corvette all wiped down. But that will need to wait until the morning, first some rest. Really looking forward to the show tomorrow.

I can't think of anything in carlisle, i know if you try and park in the Walmart you will get ticketed. Pine grove furnace state park is a really nice area and they have a couple camp grounds that i have heard good things about. Its not to far, maybe 20mins from carlisle. I ride my motorcycle around that area, really nice area. Gettysburg has a few camp grounds, but you are looking at a 30ish min drive to carlisle up 15. If you just want a parking lot, they have a few truck stops right off 81 in middlesex. If you want more just ask.

Hey Guys,

As I am sure you all know there is a Ms. Carlisle contest at the show. My girlfriend is participating and needs your votes for the Public choice aware. We are behind because carlisle people took over a week to get her stuff posted. Apparently, wearing bikinis are suppose to be against the rules for these shots so she used pictures where she was not. However, most of the submitted pictures are of girls who are. So I have no idea why they are allowed and its not helping her win. You will see what I mean.

She has never done something like this before and I would really like to help her win. So I am calling on you guys to help me out. Here is the link. I am not sure if you have to log into facebook in order to like her photo not. My guess is you probably do.

What to do: (Sorry there is no link, every time I posted it, the won't redirect correctly.)
1.) Go to facebook.
2.) Search for Corvettes at Carlisle.
3.) Click Photos
4.) Click Albums
5.) Click on the Ms. Carlisle Contest Album
6.) Click the last photo (girl in the silver Corvette)
7.) Like her photo (click the thumbs up), and your done!!

Thanks for your help.

My dad and I are about to leave in about an hour, probably will take 1.5 hrs to get there. We're CAC virgins but looking forward to the time of our lives.

Hey all. I've gone to CAC a bunch of times but never during known bad weather (got caught in surprise t-storms before). How much does the 50% chance of rain predicted for Saturday affect turn out? I wait all year for this show and I've gone Sundays the last few years but miss a lot as many have packed up by then. I want to go tomorrow and I'm not worried about the vette (it's plastic it can get wet), I just don't want to get up there an its not a great turn out.

According to accuweather, for rain prediction its saying:
6AM 55% chance of showers
7AM 55% chance of showers
10AM 51% chance of showers
4PM 51% chance of showers

Doesn't seem like it'll be that bad *knocks on wood*.

I knew we would pay for the great weather last year. Knowing that a few thunder storms can turn the hill into a mosh pit, I will leave from Baltimore in DD instead of the Ruby around 4:30 AM tomorrow. Taking $$$ to buy a few minor C4 items since I am getting ready for NCRS judging.

Default Wonderful day!

I arrived a little after 9:00. A little sprinkle early on and then it was beautiful.

Dropped some stuff off at Bairs, and picked up lot's of little things. I'll be back again Sat morning.

What a great day at CAC today!

A few sprinkles this AM, barely got the ground wet, over and done in 5 minutes. Partly sunny rest of day, afternoon especially. BIG crowd today already, so tomorrow may be a blow out. Grounds are in excellent condition, no issues with mud from yesterday's rain.

A big shout-out to Adam of Adams Polishes for hosting this evening's customer appreciation event. Pizza, chicken parm subs, beer, wine, and booze, all provided by Adam. Hell of a nice guy, really down to earth, plus his detailing products are superb.

Looking forward to a busy day tomorrow. We're expecting to spread further good cheer to the vendors. Then Ms. CAC contest and the downtown Carlisle parade. The townies turn out in droves to cheer and admire, and there's a rock n roll band playing in the town square.

Hey guys....for any of you that couldn't make it want to see what's going on (and those who do but want to see more), I'm trying to update my blog each day from Corvettes at Carlisle. I'm trying to keep the posts short for now. I'll add more pictures and videos as the days go by and when I do an after show recap. But if there is anything you want to see, let me know and I can try to get some pictures/videos.

Nice! One of the highlights for me today was hearing CERV II start up and rev.

And re: weather, it was 50-70% chance of rain today and still a strong showing. It turned out to be a decent day (minimal rain in the morning).
