Also can't wait for this year's Corvettes at Carlisle. We got the reserved spot last year. What a great idea!! It was nice knowing your spot was waiting there for you every day. Any thoughts to having a "detailing" group maybe in Installation Alley or near there? Once you drive your car across the turnpike, it needs some TLC. We normally hit a car wash but it would awesome to have someone there wash, wax, etc. while we are checking out the vendors and the swap meet!!

There are washing bays available straight inside Gate 3 by the rest rooms, and usually the Adam's crew is there and at their sales tent on the manufacturer midway. They detail a lot of customer cars during the weekend.

Our team member, Jodi Morrison, who is my right hand for the event came up with the idea of having "reserved spaces" - people really seem to love it. I'm thankful we proceeded with it but wanted to make sure credit was given to the right person

Looking forward to hosting you.

Sincerely,

Lance

Have dealt with Jodi over the years, she is a very pleasant lady who is always willing to help you out. Coming up with this idea makes her brilliant as well...

And the Carlisle website isn't showing that the reserved spots are sold out yet. Not sure if it's because there hasn't been enough interest this year, or if there's no limit on the number of reserved spots. It's just odd all around.
It's always good when you can find a hotel nearby! We have officially sold out of both the VIP and the Reserved fields. Looks like another great year!!

Btw, we usually stay at Hilton chains and have points with them. We found a Hampton inn Harrisburg North. I'm trailering the vette on my open trailer. Decent area? Room for parking the trailer on their lot? Thank you.

I think you should call the hotel and ask the manager. Most places are okay with it unless they're sold out. You can leave the Vette at the fairgrounds safely overnight. Same with your pop up canopy and chairs. Nobody will bother anything.

This will be my first year attending. Can we set up a 10x10 canopy next to our cars for an area with lawn chairs and coolers to have sort of a "home base"?

Thanks

Yes, but you have to take the canopy down when you leave at night

Absolutely, but not next to your car. Has to be behind. You'll see when you get there. You don't have to take down your tent or take the canopy off, but you do need to drop it down as far as you can and tie it securely. Taking the canopy off at night would be ideal though. A word of advice. Those little stakes that come with it don't cut it. Go to Wal Mart or a camping store and buy tent stakes to use and don't forget to bring a hammer. You can leave your tent there overnight with your chairs. Nobody will bother them. BUT, unless you have a reserved spot, a tent doesn't guarantee you that same spot the next day. Even though people assume that nobody will park there, if it gets really crowded and you're not there, then it's fair game after 10 a.m. I've seen physical fights break out when someone comes late and their spot in front of their tent is gone. So best advice is to leave it there, but get to the fairgrounds by 7 a.m. every day. We're usually there by 6:30 and have breakfast. There's a fantastic Amish food vendor under the grandstand that makes the best breakfast sandwiches.

Hey... don't tell everyone about Stulfutz's incredible breakfast sandwich! LOL - love that place. Hope you've tried the chicken corn soup... oh, and the apple pie and the shoo-fly-pie.

I have questions never being there, and since my 70 birthday coming up, thought I would I go to this event I herd about for decades.

Questions:
I buy two passes for $35.00 each, for the weekend, does that including parking my Corvette in the field, or do I have to buy additional parking pass?

I also found pet friendly Hotel, and are pets allowed in the show field?

No pets on the showfield. Some people sneak them in, but they're frowned upon. Especially by the car people more than the show producers.

Here's what they have on the Carlisle website.
"Pets are strongly discouraged for health and safety reasons. If you cannot make other arrangements for boarding, your pet must be on a leash, and policing after them is required. Your pet must be under your control at all times and you are fully responsible for its actions. Any offensive or unsafe actions by your pet may result in expulsion from the fairgrounds without refund."
I guarantee you that the first time the dog pees on a wheel, or someone tramps in dog poop, someone is going to wish they left the dog at home. It's just not a place for animals. It's wall to wall, corner to corner cars with no place for dogs to go that people don't walk or have a car or tent set up. There is a tram that runs the grounds that you have to watch out for in addition to cars coming and going all day.
Best thing you can do is to leave fido at home with a friend or family member or at the hotel. It's not a place for dogs.

As for your parking question, the only parking on the grounds is for Corvettes and if you have a Corvette, that $35 doesn't get you show field parking. Show field parking is called Fun Field and it's a minimum of $75 for one car and occupants. Unless you are registered for the Fun Field, you will be parking over the hill in general Corvette parking. It's a good leg stretch of the legs. I believe it's an additional $10 to park there per day, and it sells out FAST and EARLY on good weather days. If you don't have a Vette, there is plenty of off grounds parking all around the show.
